Haha that's my buddy's propane lantern I still have the old Coleman fuel double mantle lantern. I think the fuel's only like $18 a gallon

That and my old Coleman cook stove are pretty much obsolete. I think some people say they use unleaded gas in but I've never tried that 😮

I gotta deduct a point for the profane fueled lantern.

Sun. the P.B.S. station shows M.O.O.D. again.
An older guy on one of the bragging board pics looked so happy I almost didn't note the sex of his deer. And it really didn't seem to matter. Did it?

Unleaded residue in both burned and unburned uses are not worth it.
What is in the fuel blend isn't what you would embrace for good health.

Not obsolete!
I try to leave suitcase stoves alone.
Nabbed another one a couple weeks ago. 1968 or 9 I forgot already with a full tank of fuel I didn't check type of.
413G. 6 dollars.
Fired right up. I didn't notice any odd smell after shut down. Too cold to pursue further so it waits on the bench with other Coleman stuff. Like a heat plant I spun the fill bung on.
Black tarry fuel sealed the cap in place. Likely unleaded gas left in it for years.
(This isn't one of mine.)
They hold a lot of fuel. (!)

Although I have a stand of cedar, I no longer have access to a private land cedar swamp. When I did the best use I could make of it was to be outside on the edge and wait for one to come out. I never cracked the code of hunting inside of one.

It’s been awhile since I regularly hunted a true cedar swamp, but if I still had access I’d be there a lot. I hunted the edges & right in it, spots where I could get a shot however on yer toes you had to be. Loved it.

I’ve always hunted in or near drainages and still do: fir, spruce, cedar + tag alder etc, just not true cedar swamps. My main rifle spot has been ridge sitting for quite some years and though it’s good, I’d love to be back in that swamp in certain weather.
