What a bummer. Dan Fitzgerald was a hero of mine as a kid.
Matter of fact, I still sport my lucky “killin cap” just like Dan.
From now on I’ll just call it “scotty’s killin’ cap”
Used to really like watching his videos when I was a kid. There was one video though where he was in a treesatand and a doe walked under him and he asked the camera man if he should “spine her”. He ended up purposely taking the shot and spines her right in front of the hind quarters. They just sat there laughing in the video as the doe struggled to try to get up.

Even at 10 or 11 years old I was pretty sure what I was watching was a dick move. Lost all respect after that.

I couldn't agree more. I remember watching his videos, and in the beginning they seemed fine, but something changed. They did an entire video, a couple of them if I remember right, where they purposely spined every deer in the video. The video was called Puttin em down, or something like that. Dan would look at the camera before he shot with a thumbs down, and then spine them. Then Dan took over the camera, and the camera man did it. That was it for me, I was done with them and I was only a kid. Don't get me wrong, it happens, it's happened to me but I got a follow up arrow in the deer as fast as I could get one out of my quiver. And I've never done it on purpose.

These guys are the lowest of the low. They turned me away when all of a sudden, they started praising God for each animal they killed. Their early videos were cool (when I was 12) but no mention of God. They might have thought that if they injected some holy talk into their videos, they might appear to be more trustworthy, relatable or possibly appeal to a new audience. All in the name of the almighty...dollar.

I feel for the people who got screwed from these lowlifes.
