Alright fellas here we go! My name is Alex. I do most of my hunting on a family farm in Cass Co and my small home property plus a few permission pieces in Allegan Co. We have some good bucks showing up in Cass Co and a few decent bucks at home. Unfortunately, EHD seems destined to end those hopes and dreams, but time will tell. I should be able to hunt quite a bit this fall. My goal is 2 or 3 deer with my bow, plus hopefully a couple during late season. Does with bows win this thing, so hopefully I can get that taken care of early.
Along with my hunting, I am going on a bit of an adventure, producing a new YouTube series geared at following a group of guys though the Michigan Deer Season called "93 days" on the Unseasoned Outdoors Youtube channel. All of my hunting will be documented on there, so if anyone is interested in following along that would be awesome!
I also work for Hunt Arsenal, the mobile hunting company, so if anyone needs any help with saddle gear, let me know!
Participation makes this thing run! I'd much rather have a full thread of huntin talk all fall then win it, but winning would be fun too!!! Looking forward to sharing the fall with you guys!

guess i will chime in too then. im bill and all of my hunting is done in livingston co. we have 60 acres that i have put a ton of time and work into trying to create that perfect habitat. currently have just over 4 acres of plots(that need rain bad right now) and lots of created bedding area. no tree is safe on my place anymore. the storms last fall dealt a huge blow to some of my best areas but they have rebounded well and the rest of the property continues to thicken up. we have a general rule of thumb in our section with the neighbors that the goal is 3.5 or older bucks and each year its gotten better. currently have 5 bucks daily on cam that are 3.5 but doesnt mean i will shoot them.(im more picky now than i used to be). its pretty much myself and my oldest son that hunts our land and we both stick to the 3.5 rule. i dont always kill a buck every year but i will at least kill 2 does with a bow for the contest. we normally put 10 deer a year in the freezer so i dont hold back on the does. as alex said. does with bows win this contest. ive been on a winning team before and that was the key to stacking up the points. hopefully we can all have a great season and bring home first.

Well guys, I'm Steve I do most of my hunting in Manistee County, some in Ottawa County and a little in Muskegon. In Manistee have 180 acres to hunt for 4 of us with some great bucks on camera this year. Love APR's. In Ottawa I hunt my parents place and also will hunt a management hunt in Grand Haven. My hunting normally don't start until the end of October due to coaching my daughters softball team, getting her to and from practice for travel softball, and now travel basketball. Even with that getting her her 2nd deer will be high on my list, she shot her 1st last year at 9 years old. I'm normally good for a few deer a year, try to be pretty selective in the bucks we shoot up north so that does play into the buck part but should have no issue filling the doe tags.

Hey guys my name is Frank, I will be doing most of my bow hunting in lapeer county on state land and rifle in the UP. I typically spend about 2wks or so total in November in the UP between bow/gun hunt and scouting. Have 3 boys all hunters as well (21,19,16) I'm starting to be able to focus more on my hunts since they can do it all themselves now. Looking forward to another season hopefully we are all successful and safe!! I'm not super selective I try to target least 2.5yr old or better bucks will take a doe if my kids havent put in meat in the freezer by late oct.

Hi guys, I'm Luke. Hunt about 100 acres in Lenawee County, mostly with archery equipment, but I don't normally start until the end of October. Sorry for the delay in responding, just got back from an unsuccessful elk hunt in Colorado...where altitude sickness really kicked my butt.
I was hoping to post a picture or two of some of my target deer, but as of right now, I don't have any at all. My qualifications are either 4 years old or 140"+ This year, for some reason, I have neither, and sadly nothing so far that even comes close. I'm hoping that if the temperature drops more deer might start moving and one will show up, but as of right now, I'm not too optimistic. I'm definitely good for a doe. I normally shoot one with my boys towards the end of the season. It looks like we might actually get rain this week, so maybe my food plots will improve. They were looking pretty good until it stopped raining and the temperatures went crazy. I've got about 5 acres total with a little of everything spread over 5 plots. Looking forward to fall weather!!

I wish I had your same patience when it comes to bucks! Hopefully they start utilizing your property as the fall gets older!

My name is Ian and i hunt mostly private farm land in Allegan county.love bow hunting, well now crossbow but that season is best.hunt with all weapons and will usually take 2-3 deer a year.i also l9ve late season hunting, hopefully we have a winter this year, last 2 have been terrible.
Put in a winter food plot on my favorite 40 acre parcel, but its not doing much,so dry.
Have lost se eral huntng spots over last 5 or so years which sucks but still making it happen.will try to hold out for a nice buck but ive been known to shoot lesser bucks late season, working on that lol.
Usually take a couple does also. Cant wait to hunt!
Been shooting the ravin and its dialed in,by the way not near as fun as shooting a compound!
Looking forward to the contest and hearing about your seasons.

Too funny! I've been busy and just opened the forum to see what was new.

Wish I could say that I will be heading out on opening day but duck hunting takes a priority this time of year. My deer hunting season pretty much starts on Nov. 15th with usually at least one week off and all day sits. In reviewing, a few posted their hunting locations...I hunt a huge metropolis of land in Imlay City that is approximately 5 acres and consists of an ancient alfalfa field with bedding on both sides. It has been good to me the last 15 years so I can't complain.

Looking forward to getting out there eventually and contributing to the team!!
