Seeding/fertilizing ?

Started preparing my 2 small spring plots yesterday, will finish this afternoon...I hope. I'm not going to have enough time to get fertilizer down before the rain that's predicted thurs. and fri. Would I be o.k. planting first to take advantage of the rain and fertilizing sometime afterward, like this week-end? Both plots are clover....

Didn't get any feedback, so I decided I would seed yesterday in hopes of rain. Didn't get any rain last night like they said so I'm hoping tonight. If the rain misses me, will I have wasted all that seed? I've got one 1/4 acre clover plus plot and one 1/4 acre premium perenial plot. I have no access to a lawn roller or cultipacker so I prepaired my seed beds by slowly driving over the plots with my quad. Seemed to have worked pretty good so I broadcasted the seed yeterday with a hand-push broadcaster and left it for the rain to get my seed down. If the rain misses me is this seeding a total loss? Is there anythings I can do to selvage them if need be?

Wolverine, you're fine. The seed won't go anywhere (unless the critters eat it, which I doubt). If you have time go ahead and get your fert spread before the next rain. Once it rains and it will, your seed will germinate. Most farmers are hoping that it won't rain so that they can get everything planted. The seed can lay on the ground or in dry dirt for several weeks and still germinate when it rains.
