Any guys out there have a remedy for keeping the fuel from seeping out of the bottom of the tank? It has 1/4" OD fuel line tubing from a snowmobile shop on ot currently. Problem is that it has a filter stone in the tank with a barbed fitting and no way of keeping a seal on the connection. Any ideas?!

I've replaced it several times, but it just continues. I went to the sled shop thinking their best cold weather line would do the trick. What it really needs is some kind of bulkhead fitting. I've been to 2 small engine shops and they look at me like I'm on crack. Maybe just a Buna Rubber gasket on the inside to make a seal?! IDK.

Try wrapping the barb connection with small steel bailing wire or #14 copper house wire. Wrap only one turn around the connection and then 1 or 2 twists like a bread bag tie. Use pliers to do the twists, it will tighten that wire tight around the barb/hose connection. Cut off the excess wire with side cutters and try that. Kind of like a hose clamp on an automobile radiator hose. Only smaller. Like the other fella said, seals all works good too. I buy the smallest tube I can because the next time I need it, it's already hardened in the tube and I have to buy more anyway!!!

you could try to seal it up with threebond 1211 or another type of silionce sealant?

The tank and line style that you have is designed so that you install the fuel filter in the line, then pull the line down into the fuel tank and continue pulling until the barb on the fuel filter comes out of the bottom of the tank. The proper id of the line, with the fuel filter installed in the line, will expand to a correct diameter that will seal the tank. I have had some tanks that are old and the hole for the line is enlarged. On these I simply install a slightly larger line with a larger fuel filter and pull that assembly down through the hole in the tank to seal the leak. Believe it or not, this is how the system was designed by Tecumseh Engines.
