I've had a similar question but it compares the FL 18/20/28. From what info I've gathered putting them SxS in an ice hole, the difference is slim other than the added technology and zoom. Sure technology makes things very nice but if it's fish your wanting to mark, I've decided my FL8 does it as well provided my eyes can see them on the flasher( not a flat screen). Since they can and very easily, I'm holding out till it crashes and I need a new one. I've decided when that happens, it'll be the FLX20. I think by then, I'll enjoy the zoom feature. I compared all three and the 20 does all that all the upper end models do but at a much lower price point. My buddy has a 28 and another has the 38 and they had to have the best ones and they do love them. They've never had a flasher before. Not judging but for me, I'll get it all done with the FLX20.

I've had the flx20 ultra pack since it came out and have not had one issue. I can honestly say probably the best purchases I've made for fishing ever. Works great
