MM, I am very sorry to hear that. What a tough deal. Sorry that I can't help you as I have only dealt with a torn ACL in the rear leg. Big difference. I would keep tabs with your vet.

 

did the dog get his range of motion back or does the injury restrict his hunting skills ? Thanks MM

 

Every case is different, but my buddy had a chessie that had its back leg broke at about 5 months old and it is an awesome sight in the water.

no trout. it was my fault. we were playing ruff and he landed on it wrong. A little game where he charges me and I push himback.
Poor little guy. he goes under the knife at 3:00

 

Hey MM, my dog is fine. It's been two years and you can't even tell he did it. But like I said there is a big difference in a torn ACL and a broken leg.

Be sure to listen to your vet and DO NOT rush things. It takes time to heal from an injury such as that. You will need a lot of patience. Keep us updated.

We've made it past the first weekend and is doing real well.
he is not licking the stiches and is adapting to walking with the one good leg. He is certainly alot calmer now , I hope he gets his
attitude back . Thanks again guys and hopefully someday I will see you in the feild and beable to brag a little about his skills as a
freind and hunter.
