We are heading to NW Missouri in 2 weeks. Pretty excited.

 

Where do you stay when you hunt down there? Does your lease have a cabin?

 

My friend has a small house near Wyaconda/Fairmont area. It is about 25 miles from the lease.

 

Just got back from around Unionville. past 6 days were slow for us, buddy had one chance at a good one, but couldn't get shot. Had the big ones on film, but all nocturnal. Was a weird week with winds and weather and just a tad warmer than usual. Very odd for us on his land not to have a good week this time of year. But, I guess it happens. Gun opener there I think should be really good.

 

I hunted very near Unionville in 2021 on a private farm (south of Lucerne). Beautiful area and big deer!

Weather was less than ideal for most of my trip. Lots of rain and warm temps. One morning was 60 degrees for the low. Winds were odd as you say. I was hunting NW of Canton, MO. Saw about 20 different bucks but nothing older than a 3.5 yo. One of our guys connected on the 7th with a 145 ish 4 yo.
