How old are you talking? Color is not a reliable source with modern licenses, I've had them printed on the prior years color and been called out as a poucher with a valid license...Just sayin'

 

Yes couple years I also had the same colors as previous year tags. Think if you buy early sometimes it happens if the seller didn’t receive the new color yet. On the new style stickers.

 

The mailed tags are always a different color as well.
Best bet would be start compiling a list of known year colors off your pics or others that have the info.
If you go back far enough they will be the heavy paper back tag kill tags with the metal reinforced tie hole.

 

I have old tags that go back to the early 80s. How far back are you looking to go?

 

I would love to get back to 1990-present....I have 2010-2019 covered...so basically, I want 1990-2010...if can help in any way, I would appreciate it!

 

The rarest one for Michigan. The 70's Sportsman white back tag. After issuing in the spring the DNR voluntary exchanged these with a free gifts after the first month.

seeing these tags brings back memories of my grandpa who had them in a sleeve pinned to the back of his hunting coat.. even when we went to the more modern style, he still had them back there.. thank you

07 I found a turkey tag that was purple same as 06 color. Allmy turkey tags are like that i guess.

That is what i found at first glance. I have a bunch if 70's and 80's. Those years archery and gun tags were usually different colors
