I'm ready to head back in. Time to haul the 450 back out for these last few days and dump the bow. They aren't coming close enough

 

Just watched a big flock of crows gobble up the small pail of corn I just dumped !

Came back to the house a different way and when I was about 50 yards from our lawn, two nice 8 points jumped up and ran through my lawn, right by my Basstracker !

 

Been out since just before noon, gonna try to make it til dark or a doe cooperates

Back out today since around 2. Brought the BP instead of the bow to avoid a repeat of yesterday. Hoping that large family group shows back up.

A little frustrated with my buddy heater though. Sputtering and making all kinds of racket on low. Whisper quiet on high but then it’s so bright I worry the blind will glow like a jack-o-lantern as the sun drops.

Mine does same thing on low. If I position between low and high it's ok otherwise I get an awful hissing sound which I hate.

Set up my pop up on private land in Iosco Twp out by the county line. Saw 11 in this field on my drive-by the other night. The "last hurrah" on this property. Good luck all!

 

Back out in Calhoun co. I mus be getting old, I had to stop and pickup another doe tag so I could hunt from a heated gun blind instead of bow hunting.

I often wondered about the glow but after having a trail cam facing my blind and getting a lot of pics of deer just walking around in my plot never leaving until someone drove up to pick me up. I don’t think it bothers them, just my 2 cents.

Just got out in Ottawa , got two doe tags and the bush master so let the fun begin

 

Sat up a blind with a heater just outside the back door. Should have done this days ago.

 

 

I was planning on taking my nephew out tonight to get a Doe but his dad decided it was too cold for him to hunt. So I decided I didn’t really want one that bad with another two weekends left in January. I’ll come back out then. I did drive out to the property an counted 42 deer with more trickling out into our crp field. Then I texted smith34 to see if he was out and he had just shot a Doe so now I’m waiting at his property for him to come out and then we will get his Doe. He’s trying to wait for the field to clear so I might be waiting a while. Oh, and the beer is locked in his truck. We will have a chat about that...
