Drought has totally changed my deer movement, normally along the river theres 15 yards of thigh deep muck, its dry as a bone walked it other day in Hey dudes and shorts, now deer are running the edge instead of crossing and getting to the high ground asap... Crossings have all changed as they can cross anywhere and not just in a few shallow spots...

Worse part bleeping spruce I had stand in as a kid that allows me to cover everything along it blew over a few years ago...

EHD hit really hard in the Waterloo area in Jackson co where I hunt. Could smell death as i walked pass two almost dried up ponds😩
I'm in Grass Lake. All the back roads reek of death. Deer numbers have plummeted. I'm not going out in my stands until it gets colder and I see something more promising.

Got set up at 6.30. Bumpef one 100 yards in to my 500 yard walk to my spot. 7.15 had a porky almost climb up to join me. At 7.45 I got busted by a deer behind me to my east. Dam swirling wind was sposed 2b east all morning too. Sounded more like a buck blowing than a doe.
Nice to be 18 feet up in my saddle in the NeLP woodlands any way you look at it.
Congrats to @Bayum on the one doe I have seen posted so far.
Heading out at 10.30.
