125 acres is still a lot of land for the both of you. It's best you two play nice or run the risk of...
A) One or both of you losing the spot to hunt.
B) Having him sabotage your sets

Maybe best to just learn to co-exist on the same land. Who knows, you may make a new hunting buddy.

I don't even know what a Fireman's Ball Party is.

But I will say this. Tonight I played in a basketball game with a bunch of 20 somethings. Fourth Saturday night in a row that I've been commanding their respect.

I start with the high sock look that served me so well back in the 80's. During pre game warm up I slap the ball - HARD - when I rebound during the layup drills. I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture. Fact is, although none of the young whippersnappers have actually said so, the bottom line is I'm still commanding respect on the hardwood.

And I think we can all safely assume that would translate to any type of "throwing down" that needs to be done as well. Just name the time and place man. Time and place.

Sunrise,
Enjoy it now. When you are laying on the wood, writhing in pain....you will hear the quote "told you the old man was a short timer..."

Experience talking? maybe...

why don't you just ask the land owner for a long term lease... problem solved... to many belly-achers here any more
Again, I don't mind sharing land, I do it all the time. I was just shocked at the guys original attitude as displayed in my OP.
In just going to keep quiet and do whatever owner tells me.
The owner and I have several other connections to him. He helps me with tree and habitat stuff on my place.
His friendship is worth more than hunting property.

I’m so upset. This week I had a call from some joker who got permission to hunt the 250 acres I exclusively hunt on. This guy shows up at my door and leaves a message with my wife wanting “intel” on the property because he keeps kicking deer out every time he steps foot in there. I was so pissed that I immediately called the guy and let him know how I felt about the situation. For the past eight years I have been in pursuit of my dream buck(s), and this place holds them. It’s also no secret that when the shooting starts this is where they want to be.

I told this interloper that I have been hunting there for years and a new comer wasn’t welcomed. This is a great set up and I didn’t need him coming in and shooting small deer, I’m after 3.5 or better. In addition I know this guy has multiple places to hunt (probably not as good as this place), so why does he feel the need to hunt at “my” place.
The guy couldn’t understand my outrage. I asked him how he would feel if I showed up at his place, or his Oakland Co spot. He then had the nerve to invite to hunt HIS place if I wanted. He gave some lame excuse about not owning the Oakland Co property so he couldn’t invite me.

I was pretty up front with the guy, telling him that I was going to have a talk with the property owner regarding this situation. I mean, I do a valuable service for the owner. I post the property and have kicked people off in the past. If I wasn’t there someone would be shooting deer. I know this guy has asked for years and has been rebuffed. I don’t understand the property owner’s change of heart.

To illustrate my point I had the guy come to my house to see the deer that had been taken off the property. I’m sure he was impressed by the huge buck that I bought from the neighbor kid and mounted or equally my equally impressive 10 point (which I found dead on property) mount.

This guy came off real polite, but I know he’s scheming to get my best spots. He even asked where they where so he could avoid them (ya right). He even thinks he can contribute something….What I don’t know. I know he knows how to food plot pretty well (or so the land owner tells me).
I’m going to talk to the owner first thing! This guy’s not going to ruin my 250 acre hunting spot! I’ll post and let you know how it goes.

Wow... I cannot imagine brining the mentality of a pre-schooler into the woods while yielding weapons. You say it right in your OP buddy, the scheming joker has permission to hunt, he asks you where you are so he can avoid you he wants to work with you to better the place and all you can fathom is MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE. Wow....

Indeed there is.

By the way, is there a psychologist in the house? I need some enlightenment why I am so entertained by threads such as this. Is it due to immaturity or a twisted sense of humor, or could it be that both factors are strongly at work?

Please advise.

P.S. You don't really have to be a real psychologist to answer me. As long as you took a psych course in high school or have heard of Freud or for that matter have at some point in time at least slept on a couch - all the aforementioned qualifications will suffice.

I took a psych class in high school and I feel quite confident that you suffer from an Oedipus Complex.

For what it's worth, it is also a common belief that those of you that seem to be obsessed with the size of a buck's antlers are quite probably trapped in the Phallic Stage of development. (in deer hunting circles, also known as the "Let 'em go, Let 'em grow Complex")

:yikes:

To funny guy needs a whole 250 acres to himself. And what gives the OP the rights to tell the guy he's not wanted, the land owner must think he's ok so just get over it and be happy u have that private land to hunt on.

Wow.

I guess there are people who post without reading, or is it possible, they don't get it even tough it is clearly explained?
The Legenday Buck Bed thread of yesteryear established once and for all that one can post any conceivable absurdity and have it play out based on a percentage of posters who only read the original post before responding.

To quote many a professional athlete, "It is what it is." Don't know what that quote means but it sounds at least semi-profound.

I think many on here suffer from ADD or ADHD and find it nearly impossible to read a full 2 pages
It's the same as people that hear but don't listen. Too many times, a person will be part of a conversation and get it all screwed up because they didn't bother to listen to what was being said.
