I think I finally found a good travel kennel fan!

I've been through about 3 different fans for the kennel I keep in my truck, and finally found one that works well, was relatively inexpensive and fits nicely on my kennel, so I thought I'd share.

First, I bought this fan made for crates/kennels made by Metro Air Force. It was small, blue, all plastic, and was about $15. It burned out within a few minutes of using it. Bought a second, and that burned out. Pieces of junk. I then went to Home Depot and bought the travel fan made by Ryobi, that runs on a lithium battery or DC power, and it worked ok, but did not fit well on my kennel (I have a Rough Tough Kennel, intermediate size). I knew I could find something better.

Finally, I found the one I think I'll stick with--the Endless Breeze fan. It was around $65, and appears really well made. I affixed it to my kennel door using 4 ball bungees, and it fits perfect! It has 3 nice speeds, and just plugs into the 12v cigarette lighter socket in my truck. I have yet to test it's durability and longevity, but I thought I'd share because it fits perfectly and can be rigged in so many ways, and it really does appear to be well made, and I think the price is pretty good (the fan made by Rough Tough Kennels is $170, what a ripoff).

Those crummy blue ones have batteries and also come with a plug in adaptor (I think DC), and the issue is making sure you don't overload the voltage--I want to say the max on that one was 3v; however, the second one I bought I made sure I was using only a 3v and it still fried it. I never bothered with running it on batteries because I didn't want to deal with replacing them all the time.

I will update this thread if I find anything wrong or crummy about this Endless Breeze fan I'm using now. I like that it is already designed to be used in a car's 12v socket. I also really liked how it fit nicely on my kennel's door. I think it would fit nicely on most kennels doors as well.

I couldn't comment on whether these last a long time, but a lady in my HRC club just told me she has had two of them for at least 8 years and she said they still work great, FYI.

Haha makes sense. I wish I would have known a long time ago before I messed with all those other fans, but I guess I figured it out on my own! The thing is solid!

Don't feel bad. Some people like that ryobi set up but I couldn't get past the price. I've actually had a Walmart camping fan for about 6 years and has served me well. Now that I've said that and jinxed it I'm sure it'll die tomorrow.
