I've talked to folks that had houses built pre-pandemic that rave about how well their build with HBJD. But everyone I've talked to that had a house built 2021+ has horror stories (including ours and a friend currently in-process).

Have talked to several ex-employees that echo the above, feel very hard done by the owner (including unpaid bonuses), a "sales growth above all else" mentality, and basically just taking what was a very good thing and destroying it through greed. It's a shame, really.

Some of the subs have similar stories - used to be a company they really liked working with, but now disorganized, not communicating, poor scheduling, and treating like dirt.

Glad this company no longer in our lives and really hope others don't have to go through the same crappy experience we did.. two thumbs absolutely down.
