so you take each blade out of the electric fillet knife and run them by hand thru the sharpener separately ?

That's the same or similar to what I use it works great. Take each blade out and manually sharpen the angled side between each tooth it works.

Shore do!!Started that ten years ago on the Mister Twister when new blades were not available...

 

I tried using a worksharp. It helped but not very much. New blades were better. That was sharpening the "back" of the blade though. Maybe will try something different before buying yet another set of blades.

 

That's a good sharpener overall. Very handy.

 

I’ve had the same blades for over 10 yrs…I don’t clean millions of fish and I do give a fair amount away uncut..but cleaned at least a few thousand I would say…thought maybe they was going dull so I just checked them and they feel sharp..thinking the last 7 lb walleyes just made it seem slower…that must be a lot of fish cleaning to have to change blades every 3 yrs I would think..or junk blades…

 

Anyone ever had blades stuck in the handle? What I'm dealing with.. one comes out at least so I can clean them but what a PIA! Won't fit back in the case..

 

This happened to me with my last Rapala heavy duty corded knife. I had to take apart the housing to get them out. Piss poor design and was a frequent complaint in reviews. The knife was a gift. I've had an electric Old Timer now for about 4 years. Great knife.
