Ok guys.. new to boats. Got my 1st boat. I have a 2012 Tracker Pro 165. It has 3 inlet/outlets in middle of transom near bottom. I know one is main drain, one is inlet for the livewell but not sure what other black one is? Is it drain for livewell? What stops it from backfeeding into livewell? Just the drain tube in place? The bilge drain is higher up above water line of course. Thanks for any help.

Should be the drain for the livewell. The livewell it’s self is above the water line so it won’t backfill however mine always gets a little water (more like a splash) in it. I’m paranoid about putting the plug in the livewell drain instead of the drain hole because mine are next to each other and the same size. I always double check.

Plug or valve should shut off the livewell drain, which is the 3rd hole. Nothing stops water from backing up into the livewell when it's got a free path. My if I leave my livewell plug out, I will get 3" of water in it. When the water is cold I just leave the plug out of the livewell rather than running the pump to keep walleye alive. It's a continuous drain and refill cycle with any wave action up and down.

Do you guys plug the drain on the actual livewell or back of the boat? I may try plugging mine if a plug fits in the well. I barely get water but I would rather keep it dry if I’m not using it to cut down on odor and having prop it open to air it out.

Inside the livewell.
