A buddy of mine is out there, as I type. He said the ice is around 7 to 9" and goin' FAST!, also told me, with the weather that's supposed to be coming,, there's NO CHANCE, of fishing this weekend,,, outta Crocker anyway.

Forgot to ask him if he was catchin' fish.

Talked with my buddy again, around noon,, he had 3 fish and there was only 2 other guys out there,,,, TOTAL!! He said the ice was in BAD SHAPE!! You could scrape away at least 6" of slushy ice off the top, with your boot. I'm actually hopin' this storm we're expecting is WORSE than expected, maybe that ice will get totally blown outta there.

3 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be out there sooner that 3 weeks, I know that! There are some cracks that have opened up in front of Crocker also. One crack was right at the end of the "retaining wall" or whatever you wanna call it. The crack was about 4" wide and moving, so with this wind,, "most" of the ice should be gone tomorrow.

I was out there from Gino's Thursday all day. There were at leat ten people out there, just couldn't see everyone all the time because of the fog. Ice was actually pretty good. About 2-3 inches of honeycombed ice and 6-7 good solid inches of ice. But the shoreline ice is getting pretty bad. Lots of good ice still out there but you probably won't be able to get to it. Hopefully it blew out today or it will be there a while especially since it will be getting cooler again. Oh, by the way, got about 15 real big perch, caught 7 other that I threw back that were about 9 inches or so and got one 20.5" smallie. Pretty good fight but gave up after two short runs.
