Ive been brewing on this project since last fall and finally got around to hacking it up into a video. this videos is the first of a 2 part series about chasing chinook salmon on lake Ontario with 3 different techniques. The first technique the most common: trolling.

Its about that time when they all start showing up again and the excitement begins.. Hope you guys enjoy!

Really enjoy all your videos. I usually hold off to watch them until winter though. It helps pass those months we can’t get out there! Lol

I’d agree with ya, but I’m not gonna hate on people trying to make money doing their passion, unless your getting dozens or hundreds of thousands of views per video, YouTube doesn’t pay the bills!

 

I find it to funny or maybe sad, that videos of catching salmon are so popular. You young guys have no idea of what four down riggers, four raspberry back spoons, could do!!!!!!!

 

I’m 52 man. Lol. I remember just flatlining tadpolies and flatfish. That’s all we had. Oh and starring at a flasher to hopefully see a blip. I still enjoy the videos on a cold stormy winter day.

 

The smaller the boat--the bigger the thrill! Nice Danne.

 

That tiller action gets me hard as a rock full fish boner!!!!

 

Anyone else puke from the smell of a paper graph?

 

My uncle had our first paper graph on his sportcraft. I used to collect the rolls as souvenirs when we were done. I think my mom pitched them on me though.

 

I used to love the smell of paper graph.

That’s high class. I used a cinder block on the floor of the boat. Hard on the old steel guide cork grip Heddon rods.

Jigging for king salmon

The jig bite on Lake Ontario has totally consumed me over the past couple years. Im not sure I will get to try it for spring time kings this year but thats where my crosshairs are moving to next chance I get!
Thanks to all the guys that helped out or were a part of this project from last fall.

 

So whats the story on purposely not grabbing rods from holders and seeming disinterested with reeling them in? Also noticed you are releasing them. Dont see that here, dont like to eat them?
