Copperheads camouflage is remarkable. Remember you were forewarned

They have a nasty bite. Coworker living in NC was spreading pine needles around his bushes and got tagged on the pinky by a small one. Did 48 hours in a hospital taking anti-venom. Hand and arm swelled up like nothing I have ever seen. He said the pain was unbareble.

Where is that pic from?

Shot a ****load of them in KY.

Would start my backfeed generator once a month in my pole barn.

Open up the doors and run it for 5 minutes or so.

It was running so I was sweeping the floor.

Had my head down sweeping and something caught my attention out of the corner of my eye.

A big one was coming out of my overhead storage area and was going to use me as it's ladder apparently!

Scared the **** out of me as I had come close to getting bit several times down on my river bottoms.

Took one step back, drew my Bond Arms .410 and Bang as it was still hanging there.

Ex was on our screened in back porch and came running out to the barn.

It was a solid 4+ footer and thick.

She was freaking and stayed out of the barn for a spell.

Not a bad thing!

Until it got colder I never left the house without my little shotgun in a crossdraw holster on my side.

Can only figure the exhaust made it come out of hiding.
