Would you be in favor of a one buck rule?

As suggested in another thread here is a poll asking if you would be in favor of a one buck rule.
It would help to help advance the age structure of the male whitetail deer.

My answer is hell yes. As a matter of fact, I would like to see a "anything with testes tag", because (myself included) button buck killers need to realize they just shot their buck for the year.

No more 4 on one side, no more nothing. It doesn't matter if it's a depressed buck that already lost his horns, 16 point, button buck, spike whatever. That was what you chose to kill, tag it with a SINGLE buck tag, take it to the taxidermist, the processor, or wherever!!

Not practical and would have a negative impact on attempts to keep SLP populations under control. Antlerless tags are stand alone tags, if you required anyone who shot an antlerless deer to also have a "buck" tag, you would substantially reduce the number of antlerless deer harvested and make it more difficult to meet management goals on some properties.

As to the OP's question, yes, I would support an OBR.

Well - we can always hope! I'm not in favor of reducing progress, but to me, it seems wrong how many 'male' deer a guy could shoot in one MI season.

Yes yes yes yes! Double yessss

How many bucks did you shoot this year, ya Jackwagon???

My personal goals have caused me to pass on ALL bucks the last three years. Now now that my personal moratorium is up... there's always next season.

To a no doe rule, until we get our deer herds back up to where the were.

Okay go for it folks.. I have my night cap mixed, flack vest on. Pizza ordered.. hammer me,

I"m still waiting for somebody to educate me as to why we need to kill more does and less bucks, and how killing more does increases the buck quality and numbers.

I have tough skin.. let it rip!!

no buck limit, NO doe permits!! (well maybe one) . Better yet, 8 point or less rule.

In some areas a person would be limited to one tag, as no doe permts are avalible. I would be happy with 1 buck tag for bow and one for firearm.

Yes as long as there are no antler restrictions. Let it be a work in progress and re evaluate in 2 to 3 years to see if it made a differance in the age of bucks being taken.

If this is an actual question and you're not trolling...:16suspect

Depending on your area.... In the SLP the buck to doe ratio is way out of whack. Less does = more rutting activity. More and bigger bucks = the quality of my hunt goes up.

It's all relative though.

For this area I agree with you.

Yes I shot two 3 1/2 yr olds this year. In 15 yrs of bow hunting that is the first time i've taken two bucks, let alone two mature bucks in one season. :coolgleam

You might get one to pass off as a 3 1/2 yr old but not two.:16suspect

Absolute YES!!! And guess what I'd even pay $30 for that one tag just so they don't loose their revenue!! :D
I'd pay $35 so they can create more revenue..... What else can you do for $35 these days. Even if you go without a deer hunt a misely 5 times you have gotten your $35 worth in my mind. You can't go to a ball game or hardly any other activity for $35. So when I look at it for $35 to hunt Oct 1st to Jan 1st is a bargain.
