Asked a couple home owners on wixom and they said its not happening this year...sounds like the guy who owns the dams might be selling to the state....just hear say...not sure how accurate that info is.

The owner of the dam won't pay to fix it and hes trying to get all the lakefront property owners to pay. Hopefully the state buys it and fixes it before it fails.

Thanks for the info fellas. I agree, I want them to fix it as well, however, it seems rather unfortunate that they would have to lower the lake so much just to do so. I fish the lake quite often so that is why I'm curious.

I would have to say there is no way that is true. What would the state do with a hydro that needs millions of dollars of upgrades to meet FERC regs?

The owner will hold the property owners hostage same as he did with Sanford lake property owners hoping they will pay for it.

If the state did take it over, what do you think they would do? I'll tell you, they would remove the dam.

Aside from houses being even further away from the water, removing the dam would be a good thing especially for the various species if fish that migrate up the river every year to spawn
