Oh, I knew exactly what I was looking for. They lowballed me about $125 below the bottom of the value range for the gun I had (I had done extensive research on it) and that was the end of their "negotiation".


Turns out there was a guy behind the counter at Gander Mountain in Saginaw (that I hit promptly on my way home from GG) who was looking for exactly the gun I had to add to his own personal collection, and he gave me what I considered to be a very fair price for it.

Williams has the hk I bought $200 cheaper than gander. They have lay away for sure. And a huge selection of new and used.

I browsed online so I knew what a good price would be. Then I went to the local gun shop (Osbornes, Newaygo Cty) and asked about the Remington R1. He quoted $620 plus tax. The online dealers had mostly been 650 plus tax plus a service fee.
So I like buying local. Don't know what you have in Owosso but I know there is a sport shop north of you in St.Charles.

We have one gun store in town I am going to check out either to day or tommrow. I know What the MSRP and what Cabelas and Gander is charging for the models I am looking for after handleing them this last weekend. I forgot about St. Charles thanks, for the reminder.

I'm not buying tommrow and maybe not Thursday. After Wendsday though I go back to work 3pm-11pm and probably 7 days for a while. I have never shot a hand gun. I'm down to shoot.
