Molt?

 

I think they were all wallkng around the streets of Port huron today. Traffic was stopped twice for big families of geese on my way into work this morning.

 

I would call this typical early season goose behavior. Their patterns are very erratic.

 

Currently they all seem to be at the local park where they are crapping all over the grass.

 

Yup. #1 food source this time of year. Scout accordingly.

 

I took my students out for a break midway through each class today. During second hour we watched at least 100 land on the football practice field.

Each and every week we have a good 50-100 in our neighborhood.....the road has all the green spots that are indicative of them.

 

Live by SSGA and up until the last week or so they were like lips on a chicken.

Now have around a hundo or so flying over the house every morning.

 

Yep, was out to the acreage yesterday and there was a few large flights coming down from Huron county to SCC.
They were looking and breaking apart deciding what stubble fields they liked.
They had a lot of rain up the the Thumb so the Wheat fields are getting worked up there.

 

It happens every year in late summer.

They moult. They like all birds they grow new feathers so they can not fly.

Crapping all over my lawn.....

 

Was at Crow Island yesterday.

From the Saginaw river/Plow Dry to the Stork unit and never saw a Goose.

Never made it to the East unit.

 

There are some working the Cass, not many.

 

Saw 40-50 teal dabbling in the dutch creek off of stone island rd. Did not see a goose until down town saginaw in the river
