Hmmm that is crazy. I almost wonder if it's a different type of wound and now it's infected?
Could be a youth hunter with an arrow that didn't penetrate and now it's infected. I would assume if it's a gun wound or even an arrow wound from an adult, she'd favor that leg and based on the pics it does not look like she is.
Hopefully she survives!

Beyond the growth she looks healthy so I imagine with the mild winter we are having she will survive. May be an arrow would but may not?? Who knows?

I had a doe on cam that had her RF leg buggered up really bad after the gun opener and hoped to put her down but she never showed up again so I assume someone else did or the yotes got her.

Yeah I never saw her during the year but she looks like she's doing alright so we will see! Now I just gotta figure out how to out smart the fox!

looks like a tumor to me. Had a doe last year with one 3 times the size of that on her chest. She was literally tripping on it. She didnt make it through the winter.......and nice gray.
