West MI ice 12/27

I looks like the local lakes actually made ice over the past week inspite of some of the warmer temps. Last sunday the south end of Gun lake was wide open, today its mostly froze over! Not safe ice on the south end yet, but out by the big island there was somebody ice fishing out in the middle of the lake! Another lake I checked last sunday didn't have ANY ice at all, but today it was froze over with about 1" of clear ice.
A side note- they are fishing the channels at gun lake. If anyone has a access for me to get on the channels, please PM me.
Use extreme caution if you do venture out on ice here in West Mi.
