The Outdoor Map Guide is an interactive map utility that utilizes a unique search engine for topographic features in the United States. The topographic feature names are grouped by state, watershed, and feature type (summit, cave, spring, etc.).

The watersheds are based on the US Geological Survey's Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) cataloging units. The topographic names are derived from the US Geological Survey's Geographic Names Information System (GNIS). Users may simply point and click their way to features by selecting from the map, or, by making selections from the sidebar list of states, watersheds, and features. Users may zoom in on an area of the map to shorten the list and to display more detail.

To use this utility go to: http://www.thesi.com/
