Fished a small lake from 2-7pm.

Fished 7fow, with the fish hitting best about halfway down. Waxies on glowing tear drops produced best. Other colors worked, but not as well as the glows. Brought home 8 decent gills and one 8" perch. Threw a lot of dinks back.

The wind changed directions on me several times, and that seemed to put the fish off for a while, but I still did pretty good considering there was a group of four fishing around me who didn't seem to do so well.

That wind was brutal at times, and I don't have a shanty. Good thing I had a hot thermos of beef stew on hand.:) That stuff is perfect for icefishing.

Sounds like you had a good day, good for you.

I tried to catch you down at Frog Island all summer but always seemed to miss you. Ain't too many guys down there throwing flies around besides me but I never did run into to ya.If ya ever feel like showing a rookie the icefishing ropes let me know. Have a good season, I know I can't wait until it's time to start tossin' flies again!!

Yeah, I didn't do much fly chucking at Frog Island this year despite the fact that I work about 50yds from where the river flows under Michigan Ave.

I did catch a few nice ones when the hatch was in full swing in July.

I have Sundays and Mondays off and that's when I do most of my ice fishing. I plan to hit Ford Lk. this afternoon. Shoot me a PM and I'll be glad to show you what little I know.
