Put my new Musky and Catfish combo together this afternoon:

Abu Garcia Ambassadeur C4 6501
7ft MH 2pc Whuppin' Stick (yep, I bought another one!)

Right now I'm spooled up with 20# Floroclear by P-Line.

This is basically the same rig I was using last summer, but that one had a C3. I upgraded to the C4 to get that faster gear ratio to rip those musky plugs through the water a little quicker.

Tonight I'll break her in with some stink baits fished just off the bottom of a local tail water.

Yeah, its the Cabela's version of the Ugly Stick. Out uglies the Shakespere's, but I mostly use them at night so color scheme is no big deal.

I don't mind spending big for fly rods, but I can't remember the last time I spent more than $50 for a warmwater rod. You can't beat the $20 price tag.

YPSIFLY,

At least your music tastes have improved. :D ;)

"I had a job in the great north woods
Working as a cook for a spell
But I never did like it all that much
And one day the ax just fell.
So I drifted down to New Orleans
Where I happened to be employed
Workin' for a while on a fishin' boat
Right outside of Delacroix.
But all the while I was alone
The past was close behind,
I seen a lot of women
But she never escaped my mind, and I just grew
Tangled up in blue."

Kevin,

I threw down $80 for it, I bet you could find it cheaper if you shopped around.

Ranger Ray,

Nothing's changed as far as my music goes. I was learning Dylan lyrics when I was three. Thank God I have a cool, older sister. :)

Oh yeah, I broke her in on a small channel cat taken on a #2 Gamakatsu Baitholder loaded up with leafworms. Other than that the bite was really slow.

Nice clear night to be out though.
