The NVSL at Ames does the final testing of TB suspicious lesions taken from cattle that react to program testing in Michigan.
As a retired USDA vet here in the TBIZ we have experienced similiar results w/ TB.

Beef - we are assured that it is perfectly safe to eat - yet the FDA has banned the use of plate waste in animal feeds

Our DNR BELATEDLY CAUTIONS AGAINST THE USE OF PELLETED DEER FEEDS CONTAINING ANIMAL PROTIEN !!!
