Plan on heading up to da UP on monday for deer camp. We were thinking of bringing the duck hunting gear too...since there are no deer...;ust looking for some suggestions or general advice on where to start. We are lower peninsula waterfowl hunters and have no clue where to start. Any info at all would be great. FYI trout lake is near strongs in the Eastern UP. ;ust looking for general info...thanks

You have a PM. Also get one of the tri county maps at the trout lake gas sation and hit up all the ponds in the area. You do know the season is closed till thursday?

is closed up there right now until Thanksgiving and then only stays open through the weekend so keep that in mind. Most of the larger lakes(Hulbert Lake, Trout Lake, Frenchman Lake, East Lake, Strouble Lake, Brevort Lake) around Trout Lake hold some birds if they are open to hunting--not sure which are. If you have a good layout rig you may want to try going up to Brimley Bay, over to Munuscong Bay, or even down to St. Martin Bay. Those areas always hold birds until freeze out. There are also some pothole ponds near Kinross and small marshes up near Raco I've been to too and seen good number of birds on them.
