Friend of a friend scored on a hen common Eider, Traverse area. Was told extremely rare for the Great Lakes.

I know of only 1 ever shot on LSC, in Mitchells Bay. Exceedingly rare.

More common on superior around whitefish point and rarely mixed in on st clair River with scoters and longtails

More rare than you think, saw this posted on facebook and the consensus was it's a King Eider, not a common.

Look at pictures of the bill on each one, and how far the lobes come up on a common eider compared to a king.
