Howdy... I'm a new trapper here. I got my first set of conibear traps for christmas (today duh! lol). Anyways, I've used my old live traps before but never conibears. I was wondering if any of you would be so kind as to help me out here. Thanks!!
Yeah this is and thta other one I told you about are my two favorite sites on the net. This is proly the best out there for anything you need to find out. There isn't a ton of trappers on this site but there's enough to get what you're looking for. Have fun and I bet you'll get as addicted as me
No not really... I know... Jim can't know I'm gonna hunt with him though because he wouldn't let me. I told him once before and he flipped. I dunno why... whatever though!
I believe they are # 1 1/2 double coil. I wanna catch either ****, mink, or muskrat. I'm not sure that these will work for the last two but if they do it will be good. I'm on property where there is a decent sized pond, wetlands area, and a stream.
Conibars don't come in #1 1/2. Here are the most popular sizes
110 = 4" opening 1 spring
120 = 4" opening 2 springs
160 = 6" onening 2 springs (Very good **** trap)
220 = 7" opening 2 springs (Check Regs. before setting on dry land)
280 = 8" opening (Very good Otter trap/will work on most Beaver)
330 = 10" opening( Best Beaver trap made)
