Just bought a used trailer, gonna need some tires. Any opinions? Size are 4.8x12. Radial vs bias? Only a few long highway trips a year, mostly local, speeds of 60. Thanks

Go through alot of small tires on my driftboat trailer. Best bet is just go to Walmart and buy the rim and tire together. Easier and cheaper in the long run I have found.

I upgrade all my trailer tires to radials when buying new. My friend used to own a trailer store and told me that most new trailer tires will only last about 3,000 miles and recommended upgrading to radials. So I do.

Radials are the only way to go. Have had and been part of too many bias ply inconveniences.

I agree, but you can't get radials for some sizes. I just ordered a new set of tires for my enclosed snowmobile trailer and bias ply is all that is available for 20.5x8x10 load range E. The set of Carlisle's on the trailer right now lasted 10 years.

For your size buy new tire and trim combo. I bought mine at discount tire. As i prefer to do business with them than Walmart. Price is the same
