My brother's 13 year-old lab blew her ACL (cruciate ligament) while training a few days ago. My Dad's a retired vet & definetly stated it was the ACL.

Anyway, we're wondering if any of you know of a vet in Southeast Michigan you guys would recommend for this type of injury/surgery. My Dad would perform the surgery but lacks the facility:sad:. Thanks for any insight.......

Dr Gumbs, travels to a lot of different veterinary offices, he's a specialist and does that surgery almost exclusively.

Michigan Veterinary Specialists

I believe Dr Dobson at Belleville Animal Hospital does them as well.

Dr. Yates, Salem Vet Clinic, Salem Mi.
She fixed my Gordon 15 months back. He's back and as good as ever. $800 bucks, the old fashioned repair for an ACL. He was 9 years when he blew his ACL

My GWP needed her ACL operated on and we took her to MSU. Se was 7 or 8 at the time. She is 13 now and still going albeit, a little slower, but aren't we all.
