Since Bird season is right around the corner I was going through all of my gear and think that I need to re-wax my Filson stuff for the first time.
I have a pair of Chaps, Double Tin pants, Upland coat and Strap vest. I have a whole ton of Filson wax. For those of you that have done this before do you have any ideas/pointers? what works and what doesnt? Should I first try and heat the wax? What should I rub it on with?

Thanks
Jeff

Rub it on. Use a hair dryer to soften it so it works in better.

Just put it out in the sun.
I lay my single tin pants out on the deck for an hour or so, the wax needs very little time to soften up depending on the temps outside of course.

What you talking bout Willis?:D
LOL I take the tin of wax and hit it with a hair dryer to soften it to make it easier to scoop out of the tin. Then I use the hair dryer to warm the fabric as I rub the wax in, it seems to work into the canvas a lot deeper and more easily.

I soften it and then rub it in with an old toothbrush. Or, get some latex gloves so your hands don't get waxy.
