The Greater Southeast Michigan chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society held its annual sporting clays shoot today at Island Lake Shooting Range in Brighton, Michigan. We had a great turnout, including a healthy number of Lansing chapter members who made the trip. I want to extend my thanks to the 60 shooters who showed up, the RGS members whose help was so important to the success of the event, and Michigan Shooting Centers' staff -- especially Island Lake manager Duane Cowger, who made may job a lot easier.

Food was good, the awards were nice (like they are every year), and we raffled off a table full of prizes, the highlight of which were two handmade knives donated by knife maker Jeff Forth of Up North Blades.

Winners are listed below:

HOA Carmi McRobert 46
RU Mark Torzy 45
Lewis Class 1st place Gary Palarchio 41
Lewis Class 2nd place Jim Lewis 36
Lewis Class 3rd Place Mike Le Masters 27

Thanks again for coming out and supporting the Ruffed Grouse Society and their efforts to improve wildlife habitat.

Your humble shoot organizer,

Dana Farrell
