This is your check-in thread! You know the drill -
1) Re-read the contest rules before going any further! :grouphug:
Once you understand and are familiar with the 2013 contest rules ...

.. and when all members are have checked in and are accounted for -
Choose a captain -
Pick a Team Name -
Create your "Official Team Thread" and banner if you are so inclined...
And go out and whack some deer!

If you don't know the drill or have questions let me know ....:lol:

Unless you have some serious personal/religious (kidding) reason, PLEASE take your Doe as early, as practical. The contest seems meaningless now, but when we are in the hunt and depending on each point - it seems like that easy Doe is absolutely impossible. ALL top teams shoot their Does early!

I leased some land in van Buren county near Lawton. 60 acres corn, 20 woods. Not really sure what's in there... thick habitat. Got a couple does on cam the first week. Pulling the card maybe this week sometime before antlerless comes around.

As far as some team name's go here's some more:

Moose on the loose
Buck Offs
The Thick Stuff
Fence Jumpers
Team Moonlight
Frostbiters
Dawn Breakers
Team Firstlight
Nine Lives
Team E.H.Deer
Beers n' Deer
Fallen Stands
Morning Woods

 Just so you guys know, I haven't shot a buck since 2008. Seen some 4-6 pointers on my uncle's property but I pass on smaller deer. There is a bit of a feud going on for some reason so I won't be out there. Good news is I'll be on my leased land in SW MI this year where some big boys might stroll through :) i call for NEO to be captain since you are most active on here.

Trust me. I fully intend on taking one early every year. Last year was a little different due to EHD wanted to see how many deer there were. Walked by 8 dead does while walking to a stand. This year from the looks of trail cams there are more than plenty for the taking.

TBuck, I hear ya! I didn't see any EHD first hand up here, but I did a lot of reading and following the DNR spreadsheet. It was aweful! I just got an email from DNR...stating that they have confirmed EHD in Muskegon Co. I pray it is an isolated outbreak and the frost comes soon!

MBounce, it sounds to me like your patience is due to pay dividends!! Your Team name suggestions are good and I like Morning Woods and Nine Lives the best, so far.

RonHunter, I hope that old girl gives you a perfect opportunity, come Oct 1!

TEAM 9 is going to ROCK this contest!!!

SWEET! The gang's all here!

Let's get down to business...need a Captain (I can do it, if that's the majority's wish)...need a name (sounds like we have 3 votes for Morning Woods"...need a banner (I gave it a whirl, but someone with skills should fix it up, or make a better one)...it would be nice, if each of us posted a little intro and describe how/where you hunt.

I really believe that Team involvement is key to success in most any competition and especially this one! Please contribute as often as you can to our Team thread. It helps to maintain our core.

I wish you all a SAFE and enjoyable 2013 season!!

Both banners look great. I NEO has my vote for captain. I'd have to say the morning wood banner is probaly one it'd vote for. As that's typically how I look in the morning now a days. working, college and early goose hunting leaves me a little burned out.

Will defianately be in the woods as much as possible though. Even if it's strapped in and snoring.
