Update from last night. I was in the marsh and about 15 min before end of light I could hear something coming in through the thicket, it stopped and started rubbing a tree at 30 yds or less for about 5 minutes but I couldn't see it in there. I grabbed my bow and just got ready because when whatever it was steps out it'd be shootable. Idk if it seen me or got some ground scent but took two bounds and stopped...it was the tall 8 I whacked in the shoulder. This guy's just teasing me now. I'm back at it this morning. There's been a good amount of moment I'm here. It's a matter of time before one messes up and walks right by. Good luck to whomever is out!

Well I had a close call on a doe but a little sparky saved her life yesterday morning. Hunted yesterday afternoon and didn’t see a thing but my brother shot that 8 point I saw the week earlier. He’s a damn nice buck. Measured 124-2/8 rough by my brother.

Great work Chrisjan! that is a beautiful deer.

Great to see you are on them Bobcat, you will get him. Keep me posted, I love hearing about sucess up that way.

Bowcamp with the kids was awesome. I am pleased with how well the kerosene heaters worked to supplement the woodstove, we have an awesome time. My 8 year old son killed his first deer, it was a fawn to be honest, but he was so excited that it doesn't matter. My 15 year old and I messed up an a huge 8, he would have gone on the wall. I wanted to hand him the X-bow so he could shoot it, he thought we would get busted. I thought the buck would follow the doe right to us and we had plenty of time, but we didn't he turned and walked the other way. Not spooked, just wandered off.

I am going to hunt all day tomorrow and the next day. Tomorrow I am going to go after my #1. I will have a marginal wind, but it is blowing away from the bedding so it's good enough for this time of year. If I didn't hunt it in a marginal wind, I wouldn't get to hunt him at all until after the first week of rifle. I will be on LFTS all day tomorrow.

I am not feeling very confident in my crossbow, it seems to wear out strings in like 10 shots, but I am sure it will be fine for a couple more hunts. I think it's time to go to a differnt brand, but not this year. I have a spare, and I have the one my kids use if I want to switch.

Anyone else doing an all day **** in the next three days?

Sam I will be joining you tomorrow evening. I got a few things I want to get done during the day but I will be getting a good few all day sits in here soon. The wife and kids are headed to Disney, I will be headed to the woods mid morning. I have the 7-17th off and plan on being out everyday except the day the family gets home. I will come home to spend and evening with them.

Sam whacked one this morning. Congrats!
I wish. I haven’t shot anything yet. I have seen tons of deer and lots of nice two year old. I saw a shooter while with my son, but never released an arrow. My 8 year old shot his first deer, maybe I mentioned that?

I set a stand on the walk out tonight to sit tomorrow. It's a goofy spot, I can't see much, I can see two fresh scrapes and I believe this is the trail my #1 is using when he is on my property. I have a 3 year old 7 pt that I think uses it too. I am going to give it a try tomorrow am.

I leave for rifle camp tomorrow morning, so excited as always!

Bow season was good and I passed some nice deer. I only saw 1 that I really wish I had killed. Rifle season prospects are good. I lower my standards a little there. I will shoot any 3 year old, and maybe even a 2 year old if it is big enough to win out buck pole contest.

Best of luck to everyone on St. Antlers Day!
