Sunday i dropped off a whole fox i had shot sat. nite to a taxidermist. I wasnt too confident in skinning it (the mask) and had just never done anything like it and really wanted a nice hide, but i feel that i was charged too much. It was sunday and i couldnt get ahold of anyone for an estimate. I just wanted it skinned and tanned and i was charged $250. The people were very nice and their work looked very well. maybe im wrong but i was expecting maybe $100 - $150. what do you guys think. Its just money but i was curious.

For just a tanned fox hide $250 seems on the super high side. I too would think along the lines of $100-$150. I don't deal much with fine furs so hopefully someone may be able to shed a little more light than I. When in doubt put in a trash bag and freeze. Just don't keep it in the freezer for to long!! Freezer burn is bad!!

Way too much. Tanning a fox hide should be no more then $100.00

I think Moyle charged me $ 20.00 plus shipping for a nice red fox. I skinned it myself though. I think your price is a little high.

I was happy with the end result from Moyle...........
