MANISTEE - Talk about beginner's luck.
Robert Yarbrough, 50, of Mt. Morris caught a 33.33 pound king salmon on his first fishing trip with a professional charter boat captain.
Yarbrough was fishing with his girlfriend, Lucia Eidson, in Lake Michigan. He caught the giant fish Aug. 22.
Charter boat Capt. Paul Owens of Flint, owner of Quality Time Charters in Manistee, said the fish was the largest Manistee-area catch registered for the 2003 season by the Manistee Sport Fishing Association
