I was reading a salmon book last night and I had been looking at a picture and noticed that in some situations the author did use swivels and other applications he did not. I was just wondering when and what applications you guys use swivels and which applications you do not ie. flashers, dipsies, plugs spoons. I had been pretying different lengths of leaders and had a swivel on each end for quick change outs but never really put much thought to it that maybe that wasnt the best idea. The only thing I ever tie direct were j-plugs, and body baits. Is it possible to have too many swivels?

Everything has a swivel except for the J-Plugs. That way I can interchange sliders, leaders from the dipsys ect. My J-Plugs have a 3 foot leader with a double overhand loop that I attach to the swivel for the same reason that Fish-on stated. Tieing direct take up way too much time when changing things up especially in 2-3 foot seas....
