Yesterday I wrote a letter to both my State Representative and State Senator in regards to supporting the regulation to continue to allow the use of straight wall cartridges. Here is the response I got from my Representative this morning.

Thank you for taking the time to write me.

I certainly will advance those concerns to the NRC. I am a member of the Sportsman’s Caucus and will inquire with the chairman of that caucus about a joint letter expressing our support.

Thanks for contacting my office, and I really appreciate your email regarding this issue. I apologize for the delayed response as I’ve been really busy with things going on in Lansing. I want you to know I fully support this regulation and I will pass this onto the commission. Additionally, I’ll let my colleagues know about this.

Is anyone on the Forum planning on attending the NRC meeting scheduled for April 13,2017?

I called a question into "Ask The Specialist" on WCMU channel 28 tonight. Tonight it was Ask the DNR. My question was to have them talk about the NRC meeting today and what information they had on the extension of the Straight Wall Cartridge regulation. Both the Head of DNR Law Enforcement and the Chief of Wildlife Management were on the show and both had attended the NRC meeting today. They both feel that the regulation will be renewed and with no sunset section in the renewal. They feel it will be renewed at the May 13th meeting.
Hopefully, it is a done deal.

No, the way it sounded was just as it is already written. They did talk some about including air powered guns but nothing specifically.
Once it is passed will be the time to talk with your legislators to maybe expand the cartridges that could be included.

Did anyone attend the NRC meeting today, if so what was the decision on the Straight Walled cartridge regulation?
