Will be checking out the main lake. Will be going off Eastpointe beach. If the ice is not safe enough I will be at the north lake at Ridgewood lot. Got to go in the afternoon because I got a date in the morning with this little cutie.

Will be there about 1 pm or so. Anyone for playing hookey?

I have been sick the last few days and really need to get out of the house. I had planned on chasing a few rabbits around tomorrow if I am feeling better. I may head out there instead and wet a line for a while. Do you know if that party store on 25mile is selling minnows? Are you going after panfish or walleye on the main lake. I fished it a few times last year but only caught LM.

Would love to be there. I am throwing down some lighting fixtures at my bro's rental for extra cash.

Probably out Sunday mid-day with the kids, ice permitting.

Good Luck Mike.

No minnows at 25 mile rd. Didn't have them last year either.

Going for whatever wants to bite.

Kevin, would go Sunday but the wife insists on having a family get together for my oldest son's birthday.

Don't think I am feeling well enough to be doing much today still. I am going to try to get in to the doc again and will probally take a ride a check ice conditions. I used to have a place to get minnows over in your area a couple of years ago. I will stop by there today and see if they are still willing to sell small amounts (dealer I think). I may take a ride to Stoney to see how its going if cabin fever gets the best of me. Good luck and be safe.

Just got back. 3" of rock solid clear ice where there was open water on Monday. Very solid ice, no cracking even when jumped on. Probably will be atleast 4" by Sunday if not 5".

Now for the report. Got $10 worth of pike bait!!!! 4 to 4 1/2" perch. Saw lots on the camera along with tons of spottails from 2-4". Went out from Eastpointe beach to 12 FOW.

Met another member out there. Can't remember his name. I think we were the first out there since the ice formed. No one else on the ice.

Anyone gonna be out there tomarrow (sunday) ? I am thinking of trying either the north or main lake at stoney, or possibly wolverine lake or one of the smaller lakes out there. Has anyone had much luck at stoney?, all i seem to catch is small gills in the north lake, and tiny perch in the main lake. Any tips are appreciated.

I should be out there for a couple hours tomorrow afternoon, maybe 3-5. I will have the radio on 7-0.
Good luck.

Craig,

I was out on the little lake yesterday and caught nothing but microgills. Lots of bites but these gills are about 3" big. Really stunted growth....not worth the work involved in my opinion. Ice was about 3"maybe a little bit more....

I hit the smaller lake for a few hours today. I fished a swidish pimple with a wax worm on it and got a nice 10" crappie! I got excited thinking more would follow, but all i caught was a few of the stunted gills. Ill post a pic of the crappie later.
