I was recently given the Lower Peninsula as part of my territory and have never fished for spring Steelhead in the tribs north of Traverse City. What is generally the best month(s) to fish for steelies in that region of the state. I will have just enough room in my vehicle to stash my rod & gear for a few side trips before, during and after work.

Thanks,
Redd

The Betsie is south of TC and it begins to get fish when the ice thaws and flows out into Betsie Bay. This can vary from late Feb. into early March, depending on the season. In a normal spring the run is over at the end of April, but I've seen fresh run fish at late as mid-May in the Betsie.

The run in the Boardman river peaks in mid-April.
