How affective would it be to spread lime on top of the snow? My thought that when the snow melts it will help the lime work in the soil. Has anyone every done this? How much lime could I put down. The current ph is approx 5. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Not a good idea. You will not get a uniform spread and the melt would most likely carry the lime. A soil ph of 5.0 would need about 4 tons an acre to raise the ph to about 7.0. Bag lime needs to be disced in to insure contact. If your soil is light/well drained then lime in the spring and plant an annual. Work the area up in August and replant with a perennial. This will give the lime time to work in the soil. Or spray with about 2 gal./acre of liquid lime and plant.
