I made my first attempt at planting soys this year. I figure I planted about a month later than the local farmers. May 25 I planted.
This first plot is almost an acre and is screened with sorghum/sundan grass.

IMO I could of gone heavier but I am generally happy. The sorghum/sundan grass screens the entire plot except the east end. The east end is heavey cover of AO and willows.

Here is a few pics of the 1/4 acre bean plot

Pray to the rain gods my friend!!!! I'll say a prayer for ya when Im saying mine!!!
My lease is in Montcalm County. They have been getting more rain than farther south. Infact the guy at the seed elevator told me north of me they were getting fairly steady rain. I drove from the Hillsdale area up to the property (roughly 125 miles north of Hillsdale) and the difference in the crops along the way were night and day. The week of the 4th the area I am in got almost 2" of rain. Over the weekend I had two good hard rains for about 20 minutes each day.
