That's a good way to be, I'm a lot better than I used to be but I get pretty impatient when I see someone with zero common sense infringing on what I'm trying to do.

I fish Walloon Lake a lot and access is pretty bad due to the monied trying to keep us commoners off of the lake. So an amateur local bass club is having a mid-week evening tourney launching at 6-ish, so it's a one boat launch and 6 boats took 35 minutes to launch. I was flaming dying, the arrogance, ineptitude, the thought that they could hog that ramp was just unbelievable. I did more harm to myself then I should of.
The only reason I was even out in the evening was to get my wife out on the water as I'm a 5am to 9am type of walleye guy.
Wow 6 boats in 35 minutes...rumor here is LEMP can launch 100 in 30 minutes.
I've been to metro countless times and not sure I ever seen that type of quickness but the resident pro's here say it's so.

Anyways..weekend will hopefully allow me out on some big water, if not I may need to push the john boat down my hill and try the lake im on..sadly my canal is iced up lol

Good luck you all. Hope you guys who are at the ramp on a busy day can find the patience to allow you to enjoy your trip out.

Still does the job I bet. You don't need a 80K ranger to catch fish, like some think
You don't need a $80,000 boat to catch fish but way more storage, more comfortable, easier to control and safer. Rode in a few and have friends with them and if had the money would go fiberglass in a heartbeat. Storage, floorspace and stability in he waves and wind is a huge benefit.

Just a FYI for anyone fishing April 7, 8, 9 in Trenton there will be 120 boats laughing and leaving from Elizabeth Park for MWC and 100+ boats launching and leaving LEMP at same time between 6-8am. If you have a small boat or don't want to get swamped avoid those times those 2 days. 90% of boats leaving Elizabeth will be headings to the Lake and ALL the boats leaving LEMP are heading north.

Just a FYI to those tournament fishermen, If they swamp someone with their boat they are legally liable for any damage or injuries that occur.

There is a speed limit on the river...at least within the detroit/RiverRouge city limits:

It shall be unlawful, at any time, to operate a vessel at a speed in excess of forty (40) miles per hours (64 kilometers per hours).

I am putting a request into the DPD and Coast Guard (US and Canadian) for extra patrol on the river that weekend due to some close calls we have had in the past with tourney boats (not necessarily these tourneys).

Let' all be safe and hope no one gets a ticket!

Marty

I recommend the tournament

Was just giving a heads up that boats heading towards each other will make spiked waves. Nature of the east in areas that are not marked no wake

Everybody is a pro walleye fishing in April........some people think they own more of the water based on the value of their boats And whether or not they look like twins on the boats with their fancy matching outfits. Someday I want to be cool like that too. Only thing left to do would be to get matching haircuts LOL

What about us bald guys?

I still don't understand the "Bash the Tourney Fisherman" mentality people have. Just because someone fishes the tournies or has a nice boat doesn't mean they are a "PRO" or think they are. Yes there are pros but the others are out to have fun and chance to compete against the best and win money

Or a fiberglass ski boat. Doesn't take much to get a vertical line and a hook down to the bottom.

Hotel I stay at there are 100 boats and all leave cones or the boat cover to save their spot so they can charge boat at night and have access out sight their room. I don't see anything wrong with that. It's just common courtesy to park outside your room and let others do the same

So are you implying I don't have the same rights to park out side my window and charge my batteries as well. Two story hotel not everyone can park right out side there window parking spaces are first come first opportunity to pick. So as I said before I will toss the cones actually I will kick thoes covers exstension cords piled up next to the building. I wouldn't want my stuff destroyed. But I'm not going to leave my cover laying in a parking lot either!!
