went out smelting sun, mon, tues, wed, for one hour each day around 4pm ended up with 30-40 smelt each day. life is good at higgins. will try again friday. ice is still 11-12 inches on the west side. shore ice is getting bad, but cold weather might stiffen things up. barnacle bill
