Me and a couple of my buddies are planning a trip to Simcoe and heard a rumor that the limits have been LOWERED from 50 per day to 25 per day....has anyone heard this or can this be confirmed? It is supposed to happen after the 1st of the year.

Where can we confrim this?? I am not trying to freak everyone out just trying to get a straight answer......

Here is the link to the MNR web site.

I feel it is a valid Question. Every now and then those Canadians change things and the Web site and fishing rules books don't reflect it.

Slick Willy, you might also try doing a search on Simcoe. They have a good web site with a lot of knowledgeable people on it, also a few guides. I now we have a sponsor on our site who guides on the lake, possibly he will chime in. I think He go's by the name Slayingm

There has been some talk about lowering the limits on Simcoe. But so far from what I understand it is just talk. The 2005/2006 regs for Simcoe, which is area 5 still says 50 for sport and 25 for conservation.

maybe what you guys are thinking is that there is an option to buy the "sportsman" license which allows you half of a limit. If you buy the full license, you can take the fifty.

This is just a guess as the rules may have changed. (if they have changed, please let us all know)
