I did a search but can't find the answer. Do you guys grease or somehow lubricate your shanty poles. A couple of mine got all rusty so I sanded them down. I'm wondering if I should put something on them? Thanks in advance.

I use Remoil with Teflon in it.

Silicone spray has worked well for me. Spray on in warm place and let dry. Not oily.

I have an older Otter Lodge shanty. It has square poles. I had trouble when it was below O cold working them. In fact they got burrs on them and made it extremely hard to collapse them. I had to order a few new ones. Now I use parifin wax on them and it seems to work much better. I now see the new Otter Shantys have round poles and bigger diameter poles. Better mouse trap IMO. Try the wax first before oil.

Ive been thinkin of using the coldweather grease for my reels on my poles. Biggest problem is the center pole that extens

Wont that br a pain having oily poles? I never used anything on any of mine and have had no problems but I guess I never had them rust either.
